Ep82 Door lock Possible substitute.

Right so i have possibly found a subsititute for the discontinued ep82 RH side door lock.
much like the left side, you cannot buy the originals anymore.

can anyone upload a real life photo of said lock to confirm? best i could find is blurry despite actually trying to buy that item from that actual ad, but that did lead me to this one.
@Jay
the below tiny image is a full set. and the larger image is the newer set that might substitute it
if someone can provide a clear image of the driver sides lock, i will buy this lock and install it on my starlet to confirm

EDIT, the Key's part number matches up perfect. for this set with the ep82
also, the shape of the bend on the locks latch matches the ep82 lock, closely.
so that is enough info for me to take a bet on it :) i have bought one key lock set
I Will update With progress when it, and my car are back home!

they sent it already. my god that was quick.

As a thanks to the TGTT community, And a very early Christmas present
i would like to post my findings on the discontinued EP82 ( and possibly glanza) Door lock replacement project ive had in the works for Quite a while now.

But first a WARNING. P.L.E.A.S.E DO NOT be an asshole and go buy every lock set remaining out there just because i have found a replacement. DO NOT be that guy, Do not ruin it for the rest of us.

Anyway, Since the day i bought my starlet it Had no keys. and all the barrels and keysets are discontinued.

Not a ton of images exist of door locks for EP82 starlets, so this thread can serve as the start of that.
First off the driver side EP82 keybarrel. the most important and for now the only one i can comment on in depth

DUE NOTE, this wont ever return to a starlet in my care, so the numbers present are meaningless if you manage to find them.

In my hand is the complete ORIGINAL door lock, Use these images to find locks that can work for your car apart from what i will list here on this page, so long as your door lock comes from a 1980 to 1995 ish toyota, there is a high chance it will fit an ep82
also, the latch bends Must match the photo's.

Best bets are SW20 and Toyota Landcruiser locks and keys.
i used a door lock driver side from a VDJ76 / VDJ78 Toyota landcruiser, i can confirm those are a perfect OEM fitment.

as for the clip, the OEM starlet, OR landruiser clip will work.
YOU MUST USE the supplied Oem Starlet metal bracket adjuster present on your car's inside door lock, Unsure if others would work at this point

below is a comparison between both lock sets
OEM landcruiser Top ( shiny with key)

Bottom, Old crusty Oem Starlet EP82 Lock

The End Result.

i now have a working driver door lock and key set.
the central locking ( locking driver door) locks all 2 as well. perfect compatibility

I hope my suffering for this car Will help others. i know losing a key is very rare,
Merry christmas guys.

Nice discovery Bud :)
Toyotas use a load of common parts across the various ranges and it's as handy as fuck for replacing stuff that's not available for the specific car your working at :) window moters, wiper moters etc. The celicas use the same handles and locks from the gen 4-7, similar looking lock from memory actually.
Toyodiy you can X reference to see what else used the part if anything else :)

i partly did a PN# reference, the key's are the same on both cars, but the lock is different, i went with a bit of a crude visual inspection, worked out great
