Ok, just hooked up my Fcon unit. Used setting 1, disconnected the stock MAP sensor and just used the HKS one. Do I need to do anything to the stock MAP sensor? Turned the car on and idled at around 500 rpm, then gave a little rev and after the car cuts out and engine light comes on. Power on the Fcon is on also. Any ideas please?

Hmmm did a search and hearing so many different stories some saying use both MAP sensors while some saying just use HKS one and also what setting to use for 1 bar... Everyone saying they're right as well so dunno what to do -_-"

Kev you only need one map sensor, have you disconnected the old OEM one? It can't possibly be underfuelling, can you tell me the ROM number you have as well mate? I'm on and off the forum today so will do my best to help.

For 1bar on a CT9 you won't need more than setting 2 without a doubt :)

Thanks,

T

Well i just diconnected the hose going into the stock MAP and stuck it into HKS one. Do I need to disconnect the electric plug going into the stock MAP? There is a sticker with "E304" in pen stuck over one of the chips..

Hi Kev,

You need to disconnect the OEM one, remove & plumb up the old vac lines and use the HKS one with the sensor nipple facing down towards the floor, re-try and tell us how it goes.

Alright i think the prob before is that my MAP nipple wasn't pointing downwards. Have it pointing downwards now and its idling at around 800rpm. Also set FPR back down to 2.3 bar. Sounds like major overfuelling, when i give it a rev, after the rpms drop really low and nearly cut out but doesn't and goes back to 800 rpm idle.

Forgot to mention you can't use an aftermarket FPR with them, you NEED to use the stock FPR!! No wonder she's overfueling she won't know what's going on :)

No Kev you need the stock one without a doubt :( Put a post up there will be many OEM ones floating around we sell quite a few Sard FPR kits every week.

Ok then. Just brought it out there for a drive and when boost comes on, gets really jerky.... I'll try get a stock regulator then.... But just wondering why the Sard and stock one wouldn't be the same if the Sard is set to stock fuel pressure. Both are rising rate regulators aren't they?

And also Toby, whats happening when you connect both MAP sensors as some people seem to be doing this. I just tried it there and everything seemed fine... Is it just bypassing the Fcon as if it wasn't there?

And sorry Toby, don't really know what you mean "plumb up"? do I need to block off the nipple of the stock MAP? Thanks for your help man!

You've disconnected a VERY IMPORTANT SENSOR for the car. It doesn't work without the stock MAP sensor. How would the car know where it is.

What you do is T in the HKS MAP sensor. The reason to use two is because the PFC FCON usually comes with or is used in conjunction with an FCD. For it work properly you attach the FCD to the factory MAP sensor, and leave the HKS one to get a correct MAP sensor reading independently of the modified FCD signal.
