That was Ted's old EP85. Great going machine least I saw it but I think Ryan had an engine failure then sold it on.

Don't have much in the way of small 4x4 suggestions. The Caldina is a fairly big bus and auto only plus 20-30 mpg doesn't hold up to the stereotypical euro-boxes. If you wanted something similar have a look at the older Lexus RX models, serious comfort and relaxing driving thing. I can't wait to get mine back on the road.

Make sure anything german you buy with a Haldex system has had the oil changes - expensive when things go wrong!

Not enough space in garage for bigger car i would love a beasty lexus.

Maybe I'm late to the party. But a Subary Legacy GT is a very cool option and affordable (also in Japan). Not to :(heavy or large, very dependable. Mileage aint great tho
In 2001 went to Trafford Centre Manchester in Suburu Legacy it got stolen from carpark within 20mins apparently cameras wer facing otherway, they said so many cars get stolen every week they can't keep up o_O, police found it 11 days later burnt-out :(

The Legacy was the ultimate machine bk then

If you haven't picked anything up yet you could consider a Mitsubishi outlander. My father has one and I always thought the ride quality was nice.
