Originally it was just a socket they didn't have to get the hub nut off but when they finally got hold of a socket something else was seized on the car and no matter how much they tried couldn't get it off.

They're staying overnight and trying to find a mechanic in the morning thats open, bank holiday though. They need her working cause it has to be driven home.

The Hondas seem to have chocolate drivetrains.

Thats unlucky man, but unfortunatly is the risk when you drive all the way over from ireland to thrash it down a strip

Well this is the first I have got on, we got back about 10 last night from what was a brilliant weekend. All 3 cars got there and back with no real issues, there was a few problems with driveshafts on raceday but Gary had spares with him and with a few consumables from the PPP lads the 2 cars were up and running quick enough. Garys car was blowing a bit but he found a blocked breather pipe and that was sorted for the trip home, he is quite amazing to watch working round a Honda, things would be in bad order if he couldnt get something sorted.

The place was not busy as Gaz said, it gave us the oppertunity to get loads of runs in while still having time to get a good look at some of the cars there and soak up the experience of Santa Pod. Watching that jet car was nearly reason enough for travelling the whole way there and back, it was amazing!! We were all amazed at how everyone there was there for a good weekend, we had beers with loads of different small groups of people all camping around the paddock, I couldnt believe how many families had came down together with friends who were running just for a weekend trip. Rauiris sister and family travelled down to meet up with us, we had a bar-b-que and beers together before they headed off back home and we settled down to burning anything we didnt need to keep us warm into the late hours. Its a pity the PPP lads couldnt have stayed on for a few beers later, its was great to see and get a chat with them about things, there was 1 other nearly stock Starlet there and a good mix and match of other road cars. This would be a great place for a UK Starlet meet on a big weekend, the atmosphere would be great and the set up is perfect for a group of petrol heads. We will deffinately make another trip over later this year, I am sure we will get a few more lads from Ireland to come along, even riding shotgun if they dont want to race their own cars. It has really opened my eyes to what the drag scene is about, its not even close here at the minute but I hope it gets close.

Here is the only photo I could get up for now, I loaded a lot of photos off my camera onto my laptop and the screen has broken, I think Rauri dumped his fat ass on it when it was boxed up but it wont be hard to sort, the laptop not his fat ass that is lol. Took with the timer on Friday night where we camped just down the road from the Pod, from left to right thats Rauri, Naula, Gary and handsome me lol.

Sounds like a great weekend :) still very jealous I never got to go, one day though.

Was there no camping on site for the Friday night?

It was very nice of Gaz and the fellas to bring up some spares, even with all the crap that gets spurted about on the forums, just goes to show ya :)

Right WeeJohn, no more delays, get that paper weight of a turbo off the car, its probably slowing you down more than helping you lol.

No camping Friday as there was not enough security on site, were we camped was even better but, a big field with an Oak tree and a layby beside it for the cars, not many ammenities but we managed lol.

We need a good group of lads (and ladies) going next time, it was a pity John and Barry couldnt get over to Sunday and we were leaving just after they started to run. We had a bit of a mad dash to the boat as it was so we couldnt afford to leave any later. Hopefully the (knackered) paperweights replacement will be in the post as we speak mate!!!!

Put the vids and pics up all you want Gary, they are great quality photos above, better than the ones they were selling at the track.

The banter has its place I know mate, I like giving out as well as any as you heard with the boys there, they tried to get me back but I think I had the last laugh lol.....
