with this intercooler i suffer no lag at all and the pipes tb side are cold even after an hours driving ! If this intercooler fit on my car without any cutting would fit yours easily. I dont see the use of so big intercooler when half of the cooler is behind the bumper and so not doing any help at all cooling. And yes this is from e-bay and very cheap !

Might aswell add some pics of the HDi FMIC kit on my GT to show people the quality of these kits are really second to none.

You have made a wise choice buddy :)

Post more pics guys :) (off 1998+ glanza´s)
I need to have some more options.

Is there a kit that doesn´t require any cutting?
I don´t like the idea of cutting my front carbon lip.

And if there are some that have fitted universal kits on there cars, then post some Core sizes, and some End to End sizes.

And is it posible to fit the HDI intercooler further back, to avoid cutting?

Oh and btw, this really is a King Thread

Here is my Jam FMIC that came on the car from Japland, love this intercooler as its huge and I dont think it hides behind the bumper at all so it does help with the cooling of the car being bigger. Even if I take the car out and drive it hard when I park up and throughout driving the temperature needle does goes above a quarter.
Heres a few pictures:

Thats not because of your intercooler, its because your thermostat is buggered!! Change it soon as or you will be damaging your engine.

Naw I doubt it as if I leave the car idling for too long the temperature goes to half way or if Im stuck in traffic.

Thats the exact simptoms of a buggered thermostat. When stopped it will get to half way but when driving it will only get to about a quarter. Seriously it will be the thermostat. Also having an intercooler will not cool the water which is what your temperature gauge works from.

The FMIC should have no bearing on the coolant temp gauge reading mate. They are two seperate systems. Replace your thermostat before it sticks closed and overheats your engine.

Blitz Front Mounted Intercooler

I used the early Blitz FMIC kit on my automatic GT as the autobox complicates intercooling piping routes. Other kits seem to foul the automatic ATF dipstick.

Here's the pictures:

Overall there is a noticeable power increase and duration but it has increased turbo lag as well. This is due to the extended lengths of piping and routes used. After upgrading my ct9a to a b this lag has reduced considerably for some reason.

That one you posted there, isnt an early blitz one, its the HRF one that uses a blitz core, but alot different piping route...the early blitz ones had the same core as that, but a different pipe route again...

may want to edit your post :)

I have an autobahn FMIC and i think its good piece of kit. The only problem i had was making custom brackets so i could retain the crash bar which was really easy so i dont see why people get rid of it

GReddy on looks perfect as a core! (sizewise..) any dimensions please?? like the one sicaln has!

Greddy – core 600*194*76---ep91....just a little trimming near the inlet/outlet pipes...if u are an inpatient person u would end up shaving off too much...lol...core thickness is really about 2.75"

taken from page 1 in one in my previous posts

I stand corrected then mate, it came with a Blitz label on one of the pipes though?

Secondhander from Japan so can't be 100% certain.
