One of my mates has not long bought a glanza and may be hitting a fuel cut with this will it prevent it, if so I will speak to him,

No this wont prevent it, an fcd will prevent it but this will makesure the fuelling is right so it's safe to drive once set up.

I thought this also but am spiking at 20psi with no fuel cut on a standard ecu with no fcd.
The reason is I have very large injectors the safc2 reduces the map voltage well below fuel cut ( 4.5v ) on my 10100 ecu.
I think the lower 4.15v fuel cut on the auto ecu and some cars needs to be considered when planning this route injector choices may be very limited.
