There isn't realistically a huge difference in a 4e and 5e.
Doing research online, the bigger the engine, the higher cr you can generally run. Not entirely sure why this is as there are other factors involved, not just the size of the engine???
With a 5e, you would get higher static cr by default as it has a longer stroke and the same size combustion chamber as a 4e. Maybe you end up with a similar dynamic cr on a 5e as a 4e with the cam timing?
If you can run cr as high as that with no issues, I reckon I should be good aiming for 8.5:1 static cr???
Ha, I won't be using a fcd and rrfpr to tune mine, put it that wayafter a close friend ran their 4efte with 5efhe pistons on the td04l at 20psi on our pump gas...and i must admit it felt lively...i'd never again run an 8.2cr 4efte
i'd be personally aiming for 8.7/9.1 on a 4efte if i ever went back there...the same as i would run on the 5e
we have proper tuning and knock detection equipment nowadays to help keep these engines safe
It's more the other way round. 5e is higher compression ratio. More responsiveI was led to believe the 5e was better for boost because it had lower compression
Not something I understand tho
exactly...that extra 166cc is nice...lolIt's more the other way round. 5e is higher compression ratio. More responsive
SHUT UP!Well I've now got my pistons and rods. Just waiting on some feedback from my tuner regarding cr and then I can crack on from there.
Can't do too much yet though as I need my clutch.......
I got them next day. I just rang up wossner UK and bought direct from them. They were a little more expensive, but I asked about discount and they gave me pretty much the VAT off so wasn't much more in the end.SHUT UP!
Who did you get your rods from? I ordered mine back in February and I've still not seen anything????
I'll probably phone up to cancel if that's the case.
