theres not many plug and play standalones for starlets, only really the PFC.

However all the others you can get, can be wired in relatively easily.. about Links, i dont think you can use a normal G3 on a starlet, someone had problems with it, but supposedly the G3 Plus is fine...

personally i would look at a link G3+ or one of the new ones from the G4 range.

Im going to try and convert to megasquirt when i have the spare cash, you can get the ecu built up or get it in kit form to build yourself. Get the MSII because it has much better resolution and runs much faster.

Lots on info on www.megamanual.com

my mate has a link ecu on his gt4 and is happy with it. 1st time it was tuned it was slower than before. but let someone else have a go and they made it alot better.

only thing that dissapointed him was the launch control that never really worked.

depends what your after at the end of the day. loads of bits to play with or a straight stand alone with no frills

I have a Motec M4 Pro in my car, forget how much it was at the time think around 2,000Euro.

I wouldn't go for the Pro version again though unless you want to run anti-lag and few other bits and pieces. The ordinary M4 would do for 99% off people

First time it was mapped the tuner didn't do good job at all,car was very lumpy and jerky but eventually got it sorted with another tuner..

thats half the problem. you could have the best ecu in the world, but if not mapped properly it will be crap.

They should be compatable with any engine mate, even a vtakkkk! lol

Its been fitter to grasstrack racers with saab turbo engines, red top minis, v8 racers...and i believe to the editor or PPCs own 27(!!!)litre tank engined rover SD1

do you mind saying who mapped it mate?

i would suspect the launch control not working well, would be down to the mapper not knowing how to use it properly..

Yeah thats what its mostly down to,whether the tuner knows what their at,learned that the hard way.

You could have lesser known ECU but once its mapped correctly thats all ya want
