Depends on track mate. Some tracks are strict and enforce theirs. Usual 105db IIRC. Some don't enforce it at all.

Track insurance is only worth it if you have a car worth a lot - becuase if you can afford a very expensive car you can usually afford the stupidly expensive premium just for the day.

Check out your local motoring clubs and see if they have any series. Up here we have the SMRC. TBH its mainly big boys that play in that though, although there is the XR2 and mini cooper championships which are good. Its pretty controversal at the moment because of Ian Donaldson and his Lambo. Although Andy Gallachers Focus has always been topdog really - anyway I digress.

I would suggest sticking with organised trackdays - unless you are looking to take part in competative racing. If you are then I hope you have reasonably deep pockets if you are self funding it :)

yeah usually track days you just have to accept that if you get hit or you hit something, its just one of those things. track insurance is pointless on a starlet imo.

Anyone doing a track day should have insurance regardless of the cost of the vehicle.
It is important to pick insurance that covers personal accidents, it doesn't matter if you crash a £3000 starlet or a £30,000 bmw its going to hurt.
Then there is the case of what happens if you hit someone on track and they are seriously hurt, can you afford to pay out a few million for their health care?

Do a search on google for track day insurance and take a look at what they cover and for how much, if you can afford to cover all of those things out of your own pocket then yes, track insurance is pointless on a starlet.

Every single trackday I have been on, their have been disclaimers against all accidental damage/injuries etc as insurance is not compulsary. Its a risk you take by doing a private trackday. Everyone on track takes this risk. Only a very few handful of people actually take out track insurance. Most people with expensive machinery are covered on track by their own everyday policy. If there is an accident then usually all parties involved come to a gentlemans agreement. Either that or they push/drive their car away from the track and it "accidentally" ends up in a ditch a few miles away.
