the pump wouldnt prime if it was the immobiliser. no fuel at all, and the engine wouldnt turn.

you can try bypass the electrical part, by running a live feed to the pump via a switch. but before you do that, i would suggest like i did above, start the car a few times, and see whats happening, with the current if its being cut by the ignition system, or your pump is failing.

the engine turns because i have a wire coming straight to the battery off the starter. The ignition isnt cranking the car only lights on.

AFAIK JDM models are not equipped with a factory immobiliser, so unless the car has an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser installed that won't be the problem.

Have you removed and checked all fuses? There's no point in trying to work out what fuse feeds the affected circuits, just pull them all out one by one to make sure none are blown. The ECU needs to see battery voltage at the STA terminal to identify when an attempt to start the engine is being made, so banging a wire in from the battery to the starter motor might not do the job.

firstly id take the wire from the battery to the starter off and fix that problem first, its more than likely something so simple

As Aiden says, fix the first problem and I am pretty sure the car will run.

Its not the immobiliser, it will not even let the car fire a spark if its in cut mode.

Look at the ignition wires where the turbo timer was removed again and check for fuses blown in the engine bay fuse box. The big square topped fuses not the skinny ones.

The altenator 100 amp fuse was gone when i bought the car the lights on the dash didnt even turn on. this car was fitted with a k9 alarm and was then removed. What i think happened was the fuse went and the young lad that owned it taught it was the alarm and pulled the alarm out. He bought it thinking he was going to do it up even though he still in school and hasnt a clue of panel beating. He paid a grand for it. I got it from him at a very right price! I replaced that fuse the day i got it. the rest of the fuses look ok but a bit of corosion on them. Any ideas why the small wire to the starter isnt getting power then lads? Thanks for all the replys Im learning alot from ye. As a panel beater Its the body thats my area lol!

you need to trace the ignition wiring, or wiring where the alarm has been removed, if it had an immobiliser, it sounds like he has just pulled the alarm out, and not recconected where the imoboliser would have been spliced in.

That wire runs from the ignition barrel to a relay in the engine bay fuse box, then down to the starter.

ok so i went out today for the first time in ages and started it again using the hot wire to the starter and it seems to start grand and tick over by itself no problem. starts every time and stays ticking over with the jump leads left on the battery. stays ticking over for as long as i want. the problem is when i try to rev it cuts out. I know this thread is a bit all over the shop but any ideas now with the info i have given ye? It idles sweet as soon as the throttle is touched it splutters and cuts out.

That could be a few things, electrical sensors and ignition would be the main 2 areas but also timing.

1st thing to do is check the timing is set correctly, there are a few how to`s on here for that in the "Awefully helpful section".

Then check the plugs, leads, rotor arm and dizzy cap. After that check the map sensor and tps.

You are getting there lol.

Hi guys. About this topic. I’m having trouble when I start the car in the morning. The fuel pump works. Ignition is perfect after 6 to 8 attempts. Speaking to a few mechanics I understood that the problem might be the fuel rail valve that doesn’t close when you shut the engine off. This might be the problem why the fuel runs back to the fuel tank and there is no fuel ready at first start in the morning. I would like to know your opinion. thanks!.
