Nice one, what does that mean then loljust did a quick search as I was wondering if it was a stepper motor as opposed to a solenoid.
It appears that it is, which would explain the extra wires

Then I'm certainly interested how the unit keeps record of the current position of the stepper motor. It certainly is a different approach then most other boost controllers .just did a quick search as I was wondering if it was a stepper motor as opposed to a solenoid.

Cheers bud, that would explain why it's so smooth compared to the HDI solenoid controller I had beforeInstead of a solenoid valve which is either open or closed, a stepper motor is used to open a valve in small controllable steps. It can do far finer adjustments that a solenoid could achieve.
It's just more complicated and expensive.
Still need to pick a location to place it. Just cleaned it up and put some silicone grease on the orings. The manual said to fit the solenoid in airflow to help cool it, mine sits just behind the grill on the GT, havn't even looked at the Caldina to see where to put it, it's nice having something your not constantly opening the bonnet
