just did a quick search as I was wondering if it was a stepper motor as opposed to a solenoid.
It appears that it is, which would explain the extra wires ;)
Then I'm certainly interested how the unit keeps record of the current position of the stepper motor. It certainly is a different approach then most other boost controllers :D .

Running mine at .8 the difference between factory .8 with the hi/lo bypass is done is like night and day :) brings the power in harder and smoother I found, overboost protection, hi/lo function, something else I can't remember lol and my favourite, the OTB or OverTakeBoost button  I had it set to .8 and normal was .6
You can adjust the time off OTB up to 30 seconds too, this is why I love these wee units

I'm already wanting this piece of kit inside my car now:D Also have 2 greddy somewhat handy turbo timers one with a few lights and one which looks like a Christmas tree.

I can't find the manual however so if you have one and are able to share it I would defiantly appreciate it.

The unit doesn't need to know the position of the stepper motor, just needs to know whether to open or close to control the boost.
It may self calibrate it's range on power up or something, but I doubt it.

Nice one, what does that mean then lol :D

Instead of a solenoid valve which is either open or closed, a stepper motor is used to open a valve in small controllable steps. It can do far finer adjustments that a solenoid could achieve.
It's just more complicated and expensive.

Cheers bud, that would explain why it's so smooth compared to the HDI solenoid controller I had before :)

Im on the profec b electronic boost controller. Great bit of kit on the more common valve used. Some good things happening here dutchie.

Sorted, opened the unit these things are metal. They have 2 absolute pressure sensors which have range of: 0 ~ 343 kPa. Will post some pictures soon.

Thank for the help Jay.

Happy days :) they are a great wee unit and really easy to set up, standard boost you will love the difference in spool and response time. Smooth AF too

Pictures of the components might be useful to somebody. The pressure transducers allready cost about 40 euro's on their own:eek: No cheap components in these units electronics are also nicely sealed in epoxy to prevent oxidation and protect the electronics. For the greddy price you do get some quality electronics which imo make them worth the premium price for sure.

The manual said to fit the solenoid in airflow to help cool it, mine sits just behind the grill on the GT, havn't even looked at the Caldina to see where to put it, it's nice having something your not constantly opening the bonnet :)

Still need to pick a location to place it. Just cleaned it up and put some silicone grease on the orings.
