Haltech ECU

Hi Guys,
Have any of you run any Halech ECU's? Im running a Haltech E8 and having some issues with the cold start on it. The starlet runs fine and goes awesome when on boost but every morning or after the car has been sitting for a few hours it wont start. It just cranks but wont turnover. At the moment the only way to get it to start is by pushing the car out my driveway then rolling it down a long hill while the key is on and the car is left in gear. Doing this after about 10secs of "puttering" along cause its rolling in gear, it starts up. Once warm it runs fine.

I've heard a rumor that the Haltech is quite tricky to setup the cold start and that could be my problem. Anyone else have this issue and know how to fix it? Car has been tuned twice by a very experienced tuner and both times he thought it was fixed but the next morning back to square one.

Haltech has a lot of maps for cold starting. Can you communicate with the ECU? Try download the map and post it here.
I have some experinece with haltech (but with E6X), so i could have a quick look.

If the tuner is very experienced with the system i think the cold start would be setup correctly although you say it can be tricky to setup up on your management, but have you tried changing the coolant temp sensor on the car just to rule out the sensor itself has not gone duff.

Just hook up a laptop, go online and open text engine data, crank the car and let us know the inj. time and ign. advance (tell us a normalized value)

Good idea, I'll try another sensor after work today and see what happens. Will post up the results of the laptop reading later as well. Im at work now as its mid day here in NZ
