right im looking into getting me a harness for the drivers seat.....but little bit confuddled.

I presume the number and then point - is the amount of points it has mounting to the car....

3 point would be one either side of the seat and third say on the b pillar where seat belt is now, or onto back bench??

what about 4 point??

presuming 4 point will be stonger as more securing points? but is it needed?

also how big are they?? im on the larger side of things (lol) so will they adjust fit regardless of height and waist size??

Oh pics would be cool too...

Hey Dan,

I current use Sparco 3 point harnesses and i have them attached either side of the side and under where the back seats would normally fit (seat belt clips/holders).

With a 4 point harness id assume the other one would go there.

Yes they do adjust also, fully adjustable at the sides and also on your shoulders and waist.

Heres a pic of my harnesses:

i had a sparco 3 point in my first ep82 and fitted as follows: drivers seat- right point to existing seatbelt, left point to seat bracket, 3rd point to rear seatbelt

do you have to take the rear seats out if you want to get harnesses, cus I'd like to get them in but still want people to be able to get in the back?

I personally wouldn't use a 3 point, get something that is 4 point with 3" straps. You need something thats going to take force evenly on your shoulders.

You need proper reinforced bolt holes, and the only ones in the stock car are from the rear seat belts. If not then you need plates welded on the underside.

Harness angles of less than 45 degrees can cause spinal compression in an accident so it's worth getting it set up correctly.

Heres mine, I have a Luke 4 point from Demon Tweeks.

Nope not at all, I got a Sabelt 4 point harness and got the rears in. Heres with them out; just bolts to where the rear seatbelts are:

With the rear bench in you can easily just get the harness straps to fit through like the normal seatbelts with.

Hope that helps bud.

EDIT:

I'e seen some people who tie, yeah...tie, the harness to their rear strut brace. Don't do that please lol

This is mine: http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SABELT_Harnesses_1692/Sabelt_Lightweight_4_Point_Harness_2434.asp Got it for £70 off there over a year ago, gone up tonnes :(

Got them here: http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SABELT_Harnesses_1692/Sabelt_Lightweight_4_Point_Harness_2434.asp

They are the proper 2011 FIA approved ones, so have the proper quick release buckle as opposed to a shitty black plastic buckles, which is coolio.

Shop around though, might be able to find them cheaper! I paid £70 off there when they had it on special offer!

i second that, if not put in properly they are more dangerous than standard belts. fia reccommend somewhere around 90 degrees to your back, just look at a pic of a wrc focus or citroen c4 and see the angle of the belts.
