hi mate, after fitting the inlet i needed to change my afr's alot as it became richer mid range and much leaner top end.. , so yes its normal bro.

just manged to go see my tuner, and he agrees with kon that tps needs adjusting again.
but managed to get clearer explanation of symptoms.

cold idle is fine steady 950.
when warm the idle suddenly starts hunting, and when warm doesnt start when shut off, but will if u leave it 5 secs on IGN before u turn to start??
it runs rich in tens as mentioned,

nd emanage isnt tracing anything at all.

now only difference between last map and this is the inlet and throttle body, nd position of TPS, the actual tps unit is my stock item.

Other way around...should read 0 volts when off and closed and 5 volts when WOT.
I believe when you have the key ON though, you should get like 0.5 volts when closed.

that is correct mate, it has to be 5v on idle and 0v on WOT.. the sensor we use is a reverse voltage sensor :)

thanks you kon for clearing that up.
after discusssions with tuner and kons and others dvice, it is sounding like a tps issue, purely as i didnt set it up, merely fitted it to tb in a rush to fit inlet for mapping.
and the symptoms im having, lead me to that.

at kon, warm idle issue?? it hunts pretty bad, but before it didnt i mean on stock inlet when last mapped with the 550's.
altho on cold idle its 950 rpms and is spot on until warms up then hunts. u had this when u did larger plenum??

yes mate it starts to hunt when the tps isnt setup correctly on hot idle... and this problem also occurs with the stock plenum with the emu.. the lag times need to be 100% spot on otherwise it will also cause a little hunting idle.. to solve this using my 650cc's i adjusted the idle to 1200rpms then setup the tps & lag times... she idles fine without any hunting now mate :)

it doesnt hunt on cold start coz even with the emu the ecu still runs the "electronic choke system"

would you say raise the idle maybe, from 950 and then adjust tps????
the map is same as last time with these injectors, (lag times) and idled fine tbh matey, so reckon TPS calibration is the culprit.

right, my tuner has just text me to say, the tps is reading at WOT, but nothing is working on the bottom pin???

would this indicate tps nakered???

just rang tuner, and he said he took tb off the car, to check tps etc, and he gets a reading at WOT, but not when shut or any other time, and he tried moving tps with little movements and no improvement what so ever.

so TPS failure???

am i right in thinking the tps settings shiuld be 5 volts on closed throttle and 0 volts on wide open throttle???

The TPS switches the IDL and PSW terminals to ground, the IDL and PSW terminals are fed with 5v from the ECU's VCC.

At idle with the throttle closed the IDL terminal should read 0v and the PSW terminal 5v.
At part throttle the IDL terminal should read 5v and the PSW terminal 5v.
At WOT the IDL terminal should read 5v and the PSW terminal 0v.

If your getting any other readings then you have a wiring, TPS or ECU issue.

Are you using a stock throttle body?

Was the TPS removed from the throttle body before testing?

With the TPS connector disconnected is there any resistance between the middle pin and body ground?

its stock tps on a 70mm supra throttle body texx, and fits in a different position with the pins pointing towards the ground compared to stock.
he says he gets a reading on WOT, and the bottom pin gives him nothing what so ever, and he tried moving the tps whilst tb was off car, and still there was no reading on bottom pin.

got a new tps and tested it on workbence, next to old one, and the new one is so far giving the readings.
so got bolt tb back on and hope tuner can map it.

will keep you guys posted.
