prob hard to see, but yep, each end has identical depht to fit the required circlips and orings to snap fit the cv inner gear once slid on the splines. I will widen the inner hole for the cv boot to slid on axel shaft accordingly. I understand what you all mean by the grooves on the axel to secure the cv boot. The thing is, they are a weak point. In this one off custom axel build, i decided that the shaft be untouched RE: No necking or grooves, unlike standard axels.

I appreciate the endorsement expressed by genuine members.

To all those haters and skeptics that said i failed on the conversion and stopped it, well look what you see infront of your eyes. Does making custom axels look like i failed or stopped the conversion. Alot of people said that the conversion was never going to work, well im sure now you will be rocked sideways.

you were doing so well up to this...

just shows what a bodge job he's doing. cutting corners everywhere. He might have a ''world first, top notch, one of a kind, unbelieveable machine worthy of 500bhp'' BUT the engine will fall out after a mile...................whats the point seriously doing all the hard work just to fail in the end?

guy beez fucked heh!

Are those custom shafts accent. I didnt need to spend that much to make my axels. I will have to keep the figure a secret for myself.

minority? probably 99.9% of this club thinks your a dick! you and your so called ''australias first 3SGTE'' ARE AN EMBARRASSMENT!, you had your bodge job for sale on ebay so you could rid yourself of the guilt of destroying a good car!

If I was you I would take your shafts and car and set fire to the lot and claim on insurance. what a waste of time, money and effott........well time.....

Doosh bag!

can these be made up for a glanza what price are they pm me if you can nice job :)
If you have a standard powered glanza 4efte, there is no point in making custom axels. Are you intending to build like a 400HP+ glanza, that may be a different story.

Reason why i made axels is cos i did a 5 stud conversion and the axels will be good enough for around 500+ hp forever.

Pointless making axels with the width of the 3sgte axel and getting it downsized to a starlet hub. Its kinda like a cone or funnel in downsize etc.

Driver side assembled, next is passenger side.

As you can see from the comparison pic now, thats a standard starlet GT axel. There is no way on earth i would ever downsize a 30mm steel rod to that skinny toothpic starlet axel, so i had no choice but to convert to 5 stud and have the axel a solid thick soombich.

Now thats how you do it folks

at the end of the day you have 500 bhp shaft and the cv may not that hold that power so whats the point in this? unless you have custom cv built to hold of that powers its usless keep blowing cv after another as mines did

Excellent advice from someone who has already been down this route, maybe this is the post you should take heed off.

Big shafts smalls shafts eaither way stick it up your shaft, its all weight a 300bhp 4efte/5E would eat this thing for breakfast...By the time you get this thing runnig it wont be able to moove off your drive you keep adding that much shit to it the first corner you come to the front end will be into a tree

Success number 1: Driver side driveshaft is in and has perfect 2mm play in it. No abnormal freeplay sideways nor is it tight, its just right. So i got my dimensions 100% correct. im very happy with my measurements, by the use of a metal ruler, wooo hoooo.

Passenger side next.

sorry but i taught you officially signed out ages ago? them drive shafts are going to leak all the cv grease out. your engineering is not as good as you think pal

Blowing CV's is the least of my worry, if any. I can buy brand new CV's for $38AU, so if i blow 10 cv's big whoop.

if the boots leak grease, i will just use resin glue to seal them up cos i wont be touching the axels, not going to machine them ever.

A day or two and the car is ready to be driven.

You can see why people are saying it though,10 cv's = $380AU
Machining a grove (5 minutes on a lathe) would be top $70AU

Saving $310AU

As for sealing the boots to the shaft with resin, well if you plan on changing them even once (going by accents post you will) its seems an un-efficient way or going about it.

By your own words this will be the only 3sgte starlet in AU,why not have it perfect?
Instead it may be case of having a very good looking quick starlet that plops grease all over the ground and your lovely work.
