sounds like the overall concensus is that if money is the issue, its going to cost more to race our car than run it on the road :(

Yup for sure, and if you not in the road car class due to no tax insurance or MOT you need to have a log book kept and a approved rollcage fitted. :(

Log book costs 30 quid.
Can you get a 4 point cage for the starlet? or even have one made up? Thats the minimum requirment for the modified class in the UK IIRC

I took the CRX off the road as it was costing me a fair bit and i wasnt driving it alot. So i took the plunge and had a cage built and put in all the required safety equipment so i could sprint it.
A seat doesnt have to be in date, but the harnesses do.

See here for info

I do both slalom and rally in my ep. Our Rallys are most of the time close to hillclimbs in term of roads (a bit tighter I would think)

what will be your main concern is regulation... we have changed 3 times regulations in the last Rally 3 years over here...
I used to be F13, then F2 and now I'm N3 (I have considered to be in A3 aswell).
I have used both TD04l and GT2056, the latest one is a tight better :)
I've been using them without turbo restrictor, with 32 and 34mm turbo restrictor depending of regulations

I have started a FB page : Lion Motorsport ™

Thanks for the info Lionel! if i could get the exact requirement for a starlet without tax insurance or mot and a price for a cage then i might consider it.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped flag up issues.
