How 2 Fit Clutch ???

Hi,

Has anybody fitted their own clutch??

With my *extremely* limited knowledge of cars, I guess you have to take the driveshafts off (which probably involves taking half the car apart) - then ripping the gearbox off before getting to the clutch...

Can they tell me how difficult it is and preferably post some pics up?

Cheers!

If I was you mate I'd steer well clear of a D.I.Y job, especially if you have an 'extremely' low level of experience! It takes the pro's a good 3-4 hours to fit a new clutch and just think how many they fit in a week!!!

Im going through the same situation at the minute and am about to take it to a garage who are fitting my clutch for £150! It will cost you more than that if you cock things up I assure you! Get yourself a quote from a garage, depending where you are, you should be able to get something for around £150! :)

I would do that, but money is extremely tight at the moment.

I can only just afford the clutch next month, and the current clutch spins all the time so isnt going to last until I can afford to get it fitted.....

I need my car for work, so my only choice is to try fitting the bastid thing myself.

or rob a bank...... :cops:

if you arent experienced chances are you wont have a clue where to start let alone the right tools!!

a clutch is probably one of the most technical parts to get to on a car as you have to take out alota crap to get to it. best bet is to leave it to somebody that knows what there doing!! last thing you want is starting it then giving up in a blind rage leaving your cat sitting on axle stands lol
