How to make your own cheap TOM'S grill

Time:


1 hour

Tools:

Dremel pro
or very dab hand with a blade
Pen (marking up)
cross head screw driver (remove the badge)
fiberglass matting and resin
tub (to mix it up)
mesh (build the fiberglass onto)
MESH (behind the grill if wanted)

starts to take shape now :)

once you have it all cut out you need to now smooth off all the edges ready to get some matting molded on. use the mesh to get the shape then slop abit of resin on and plate your matting on wait for it to harden then you can get ready to prep it for painted


This is how it looks with it just cut not yet got round to shaping it up

How to TOM's Grill part 2

What you need
davids P.40 Glass fibre compound
file
sand paper
wet and dry sand paper
Primer
paint (I used 'Plasti-Kote' Fast Dry Enamel)

So to carry on from quadcorecraig.

Fill the gaps using the P.40, it like normal filler mix it up and slap it on. I used duck tape on the top edge to keep the shape. Put plenty on as you will be filing it back later. Try not to get air bubbles.

Use the file to file it flat use the sand paper to blend it in. Rub the hole thing using wet and dry before spraying.

spray it up, get some mesh, find your old TRD bag. Job done
