The turbo company who are making my new turbo strongly advise not to fit a different compressor housing to the CT9 as it causes it to go out of efficency.

The exhaust side is also too small to make use of the larger CT20 compressor housing.

A CT9 with a ct9 exhaust side and a CT20 is going to put massive strain on the thrust bearing when you hit and come off boost and isnt going to last very long at all.

My new Hybrid though ive never seen one made like my new one is going to be :).

Should be back tomorrow cant wait to get it on and have a remap should be up and running then.

Then ill strip it out and have a shoot at the fastest UK 1/4 mile Hybrid turbo'd GT!

me too as im planning on heading the Hybrid route. I'd understand if you didnt wanna publicise the specs but i could with a little bit of help on this one Dave. Keep us all posted.

When it comes back ill take the pictures and stick the spec up I can get Garret CT9 Hi-Flow hybrids like my old one made up for a better price than anyone else too.

My new one is going to be a Garret Hi-Flow CT9 like before But, some nice modifications made to the turbine wheel and turbine wheel housing :). And I dont mean a simple cut back!

I have a ct9/ct20 hybrid on right now and trust me it does make a difference over the stock ct9! I've gotten together with another member on here you has a glanza tuned to similar specs as my gt, same ecu, uprated ic's, boost levels (10psi) the only difference was the turbo (ct9b vs ct9a/ct20). In 1st and 2nd gears the cars were dead even from 3rd onwards the hybrid stood out with far better pull. The better excelleration from 100kmph onwards was quite apparent. Having said that, I am also interested in any turbo that give excellent response yet better top end power. I will watch your progress turbodave.
