Hi, where's the best place to get a decent headgasket from for an ep82 for a good price? My motor factors reckon they aint having anything shipped in for imports til september! Oh and can you reuse the headbolts? Im only running about .75 bar
cheers

the headgasket is the same as a uk 4efe one mate. the motorfactors are just being dicks.

you can re-use the headbolts if you wish and if you want to do the job on a budget and that is all the boost you are running i would be tempted to re-use.

what is the reason for the headgasket to have gone do you know?

Not sure, but went on cyl 3, also got a nice big crack in manifold around runner 3 so heat i suppose. What car/engine runs a 4efe? He said he can get a cambelt for a 4efe but the headgasket for that engine wont be up to the job

uk starlets run a 4efe. so do the 1.3 corollas of the same age. the 4efe gasket will be fine, ignore his crap advice. if the gasket is of a decent quality/make, it will be perfectly fine

Cheers mate, Ive used payen headgasket on other cars in the past with no trouble and have read/been told they are as good as manufacturer parts. So the headbolts are not 'stretch' type then, I am on a budget lol, just forked out on a new manifold i wasnt planning to.

Head bolts are stretch bolts and should be changed

agreed, but on a budget they will do fine ;)
It will not be much " on a budget" if the thing fail due to not changing strech type head bolts and need again a new gasket, skim, working hours, oil, coolant etc.
Isnt something that has to do with boost pressure applyed and if kept low.If it was we wouldnt bother change them on n/a cars either.
I am with you and i have seen a lot of people reusing them or other tighting them up more than specification cause it is the second time they use them and get away trouble free but this dosent mean it is the right method.
100% you need new one or asking for troubles.
