Insurance purely to be road legal?

Is it possible to get insurance purely to keep your car legal?

What i mean is that i dont want to drive anywhere at all, the car will just be sat outside my house. 0 annual mileage, wont be driving during the day or night, or using it for social purposes or commutin to work... but i also dont want to pay mad prices for not even driving it.

Might be hoping for a bit much but thought it would be worth asking. Cheers.

if it has tax then it should be allowed to be just kept on the road i thought?

speak to specialist insurance companies. they do a policy for cars that are just being stored and not used so you can still have it covered for theft etc.

My tax expired this week and i cant renew it until im insured, and i havent been insured or driving since nov. I was thinking about getting one day insurance and then getting taxed but apparently that is now illegal.

But that is exactly what i was hoping for, do you know any specialist companies in particular? How much do they roughly cost?

If it's not insured then it need to be kept off the public road, on a drive space etc. You can SORN it to avoid paying tax, otherwise they will fine you £80 automatically.
