Intercooler Piping size?

I'm building my own FMIC set up, being that i already have my own 29"x6"x2.5" core. Its rated for 500cfm so i think it will have plenty of room for modification later down the road. The end tanks are both 2.5" inlet/outlet. What size piping would you guys use for a slightly modified ct-9? I would think 2.5" is too big to use all around and maybe i should use reducers to the endtanks and maybe 2"-2.25" instead. Any Thoughts?

Exactly what i was thinking. Thanks Rory.

You think the endtank openings are too large then on the intercooler? or will 2" to 2.5" reducers be ok using 2" piping?
