Interior Light - Door switch Switch wiring

Hey lads,

I was having some issues with the drivers side door switch, basically not triggering the interior light when open. Annoyingly, I managed to snap the switch from the wire, and I can’t connect it back as the wire is inside the door frame..
Can anyone tell me where I can splice into the wiring to reconnect the switch?
Or can I pull the wiring through anywhere from the back seats etc?

Thanks

Should be under the plastic sill guard then pull the carpet back a bit bud. No idea what colour tho. Them switches fail across the Toyota range too. I have a few from the black Yaris still but the GT is nowhere near me to compare fs
WhatsApp me some pics if you can Bro I can compare them :)

Thanks Man.. I had a quick look under the sill plastic earlier and as you said, was like finding a needle in a hey stack lol.
There is one wire which did look like the culprit but it seemed to be hooked onto the inner door frame.
An electrician mate of mine, is going to have a look with me tomorrow. So i’ll
Keep you posted

Just popped out to the garage for a quick look there. I took a couple of pics for you. As Jay mentioned, door card off required. Easy job. If the switch isn't triggering the interior light you may as well get a replacement switch now before starting the job. The switch is likely toast, as Skiny mentioned. I replaced both of my switches with some I pulled out of a 95' Corolla from the local scrap yard. Plug'n'play, quick, cheap and easy. Sorry about the sideways pics. Still have trouble with editing the orientation of the pics

Thanks lads.
My mate did the repair for me earlier and I gave him a hand.
He had the rear plastic off in no time..although I probably would have cracked the plastic if so did it lol…and he let me do the soldering.
The pin switch gave up the ghost even after cleaning up all the contacts etc.
We fitted a cheap Chinese eBay switch, which I had spare…it works ok ish…but is a bit temperamental. So need to see if so can get a better quality pair from somewhere.

I had a look at the Corolla ones, but they seem to have a plug fitting to them?

A plug like this? For my starlet I unplugged the old connector and plugged in the one I got from the corolla. Simple as that.

Try googling 95' Corolla door jamb switch. While you have your old one out, just compare it to images on Google. Order the one that looks like yours.

The Starlet ones come with that length of wire on them (as per Fez's pics).

They actually aren't too dear from Toyota, part number is 84231-32040 if you need it. I've had to buy a few over the years.
