jam fcd causing car to smoke a lot on idle

i fitted a jam fcd on my latest daihatsu avanzato l200s today and it caused it to smoke like mad, stupidly over fueling on idle, it was deff wired in correctly aswell as swapped the white and green over and it wouldnt run, i know it worked as had it on my old avanzato a month ago and was working fine but its been sat in my garage for a month on the shelf and was in my boot for a couple for days.

has any 1 else ever know this to happen?
could it be broken as sending a hige voltage reading to to ecu causing it to dump WOT fueling in on idle?

any help of thoughts would be good as scratching my head going mad as never heard of a jam or greddy causing this to happen

No as it in no way has any thing to do with fueling or even the electrics, think it's the jam fcd as fitted a turbosmart fcd 3 and it starts and runs in a type of fashion

Sounds like it's messing the MAP signal up and making the ECU think it's on boost at idle - that would explain the excess smoke/fuel.

I've seen a few JAM's die before, pretty sure the fact they are normally installed in the engine bay might have something to do with that. You could try popping the cover open and adjusting the dial inside. Can't remember which direction reduces the effect but it's worth dicking about with it and seeing what happens.

turned out i had 2 dead fcds, so made 1 out of a zener diode which is working a treat and only cost £1

Am confused how are you using a Zener diode as a fcd? They drop a voltage across them say 2v and regulate to this regardless off input voltage

My cut voltage is 3.8 so I've got a 3.7 zener soldered in the map sencor and the other end in to the main earth, once the diode seeing 3.7 it opens up and bleeds of the extra voltage so it never sees past 3.7, pretty much the same as as a jam or greddy fcd main diff is it dont have a ajusted pot ect, it's a crude way of doing it but it works and works well on my avanzato
