I'll try and borrow a mate laptop tomorrow afternoon to do it from. Sorry guys :(

mate thats what he said
its spun a bearing thats y the tapered bit wasnt there
On big end 1, the bearing has no notch, and was overlapped. I have the bearing in my hand now and there is no notch.

I was there when it was took apart so I have seen it with my own eyes. I wasn't able to get any pictures as I couldn't get my camera in close enough.

There is no way in hell this engine was built right. My engineer has let me be there every step of the way, and has taken it apart infront of me so I can photograph the engine to provide proof

Yeah, 4 fucked bearings aren't due to oil starvation or anything like that. Its just bad building.

Incorrectly torqued rod caps are the main problem.

But put it this way, I'm glad I stripped the whole engine, as it has saved me a whole heap of problems later down the line.

Just a shame its going to cost me a fortune now

Thats a mess.

How does pitting appear on the buckets and shims if there always in oil etc.
4 fucked main bearings, in the same sitting (as such) points towards the main bearings beaing either over torqued, or the wrong size. Time to do some real digging.
What was done in the rebuild to start with?

That will be for ragz to clear up, as I don't know exactly, as far as I was aware it was virtually a brand new engine. Which is what I asked when I was interested in buying it.

From what I know it was completely rebuilt.

My mechanic thinks the engine had severe HG failure at some point, and they just chucked new bearings and hg inside it!

Also who ever fitted the pistons has put them in a vice! They have teeth marks in the sides of the pistons, I'll try get some photos of that when I go down to the garage tonight.

The whole engine is a fucking mess, what a waste of 650!

Yup, never been apart I don't think! The "rebuild" consisted of new incorrectly fitted shells and a headgadket I think!

Christ thats one of the roughest bores ive seen looks like they literally threw it together.

It looks like the engine has been stood for quite sometime before it was touched as surface corrosion takes time to get to the buckets like that even at are work ive never seen a bucket like that and we have scrap engines left outside for sometime dude before they are collected id like to see an invoice of the parts used in the build as id of thought the block should of been honed before the rebuild even for peace of mind dude also in the first pic of the bore is that a huge score going down and across it??
