Knock sensor(engine light) coming on

my engine knock sensor is coming on.code 52.Im really worried about it as its unmapped forged td04.any time i give the engine any pedal it comes on.but if i drive it very easy (below 2500rpm) it stays off.i have 4bar pressure running through the sard rrpfr.there is a slight knock coming from the engine also when it starts up.sounds like the belts.but when it warms up its not so noticable.

what will i check?
My gut feeling is its big ends:(

The knock sensor goes in to the back of the engine. There is a wire running down to it next to the fuel rail (in my case there was, and it was blue).

You might wanna check to see if the wire has been damaged in any way.

i have checked the knock sensor itself and it seems to be fine.170euro for a new one of toyota so i opted out of that.i havnt checked the wire or the timing yet.its not missing or anything though so i dont think it could be the timing

i would personally get it back on the RR and get it checked out.

wat boost are you running?

with a forged engine i would get some form as management as fcd/fpr is a very rough way of doing things at high boost

As Ted says, check your timing.

Most forged engines rattle more when cold due to the clearances, that would not be abnormal, but if its excessive noise then it could be something else.

Are you running big boost as you have plenty of fuel going in?

boosting .6bar.i drive it up the rev range in first gear now and again.the knocking is clear.im going to bring it to an engine specialist here locally.to look at it

if its a light rattle when cold, it might be the pistons' tolerances. else, it could be valves, need adjustment...you have to have an experienced ear to distinct every sound.

irrelevant but, 4 BAR OF FUEL PRESSURE IS A CRIME.

Try another ECU

Hi mate,

Try to plug another ECU first then drive your car,i had the same prob but i have a stock glanza v.My engine light was lighting on after 2500rpm,now i changed ECU and its ok..

bigdoods....your using a power fc arent you?where are you geting the codes from,did you plug in the standard ecu again?

i have only the standard ecu in.it runs .6bar boost.perhaps the other ecu could make a difference.thanks for the suggestion.i must try it.otherwise if it is the knock sensor thats in trouble il need to replace it and if thats the case the power fc wont be able to read it when i plug the power fc in on thursday.

have you a commander for it,you can check the levels on it if you plug it in..if it is the knock sensor the power fc wont retard the timing if it detects knock,so id leve the standard ecu in..just a taught:)

that is what mine does too and it coughs and splatters and dumps shit loads of fuel out the zorst i also get code 24 ATS what is that?

thats running lean<-bad news.ah ya the knock sensor is nothing to worry about.the power fc will sort it.think it was the standard ecu that was dodge

i have a a/f gauge and its sits on rich all the time do you know wat the ATS is? oh its only be running like that when i put a boost controler on the other day

oh right.apologies,ya its running rich then<-also bad news.whats controlling your fuelling and what boost are you running?i dont know what ats is sorry.put up a thread up here,youl get answers
