Knock sensor fault

Hi all, been racking my brain about code 52 knock sensor fault.
It's the only fault showing on flash codes.
Checked continuity from sensor plug to ECU connector and I'm getting continuity.
So I unplugged the sensor and shorted to earth thinking it may think it's ok but still shows a fault. Could this be a faulty ECU?

It should clear everytime you switch it off then come on again at about 1700rpm. Normally a faulty sensor.
Disconnect the battery for 30 mins that will clear the ecu and see what happens

Yeah I've had the battery off and on again. The alternator is squealing like f**k could that set the knock sensor off?

Is the knock sensor loose? Also, if it is old, they can go bad. Even if it seems ok, it's worth replacing.

Unlikely a squealing alternator would set it off
