Lightweight flywheel...

Does anyone here have one on a td04 setup or a higher powered starlet (i.e. 200hp+). Ive been thinking about getting one but ive heard a few bad things about how it can affect boost between shifts or somethin. I just want to clarify the ups and downs of this modification before i buy one. Thanx.

you will loose a bit of torque, but you will rev much faster than stock so its worth it...

you say problem in boost drop between shifts??yes you will experience this if you are not the sort of driver that shifts really quick...remember the revs will go up faster and also DROP faster

seeing as the revs will be faster and there is less weight to slow the rotational movement of the engine does this mean that there would be a slight increase in acceleration?

thanx for the help... definately gonna look into the purchase now. Does it matter if its no name? jps trading ltd on ebay has them for a good price but theres no brand name - 4.6kg.

i just fitted a orc single plate clutch which comes with their light weight flywheel and it definetly makes a difference its lovely and the revs dont "drop" as much as i feared its hardly noticable really.. but the acceleration is a lovely bonus

Yes, in THIS VIDEO, you'll notice the boost gauge never dips once the
run is underway IF you're shifting at the speed of light!
