Missfireing and error code 12

Ive got a problem with my car. its driving me insane. for the last coupple of week's ive been trying to get it running but with no luck.

my 1st problem started 2 week's ago, i was going along put my foot down and then the car died on me. i pulled over and it was only fireing on 1 and some times 2 cylinder's. i got it home and had a good look and after posting on here i changed the dizzy/rotor arm, the plug's and the lead's. changeing the leads made it run alot better but its still missing on 1 cylinder and some times cutting out on another one. its number 3 and 4 that have the problem. i changed over the injectors today and still no luck. the only thing that i changed before it did it was i installed a my walbro fuel pump but that was 2 week's before it died and was running fine untill then.

i have checked the engine code's and all i have got is error code 12. wich is 'no rpm, tdc signal.' which i think it say's is something to do with the dizzy/amplifer/starter circuit.

it's really starting to piss me off as ive had nothing but problems with this car. any help would be very much apprectiated

ive just been thinking about whats up and was wondering if it could have slipped on the timing?

it's strange as im getting a good spark on the plug's but after ive turned it on and then taken the plug's back out the plug's are very wet (with fuel) it's relly confusing me to why if it's got a good spark and it's got fuel going in, why would it not be ignigting the fuel?

check the piping from the fuel pump in the tank i had this brust after fitting my pump its made it misfire like that then cut out

but why would i still be getting fuel though? and why would it only effect number 3 and 4 piston's. also there is enuough fuel presure n the system as my fuel presure guage is still reading the same

sorry did not know u had a fuel presure guage . is it misfireing all the time or only on boost ?

That code 12 tdc signal comes from the distributor, into the coil pack and then to the ecu.

I have seen wiring rubbing against intake piping and shorting cables at the coil pack plug before, and have seen coil packs giving up as well.

Have a look at the coil and the wiring from it. It also needs to be tightly connected to the bulkhead to give it a good earth or it wont fire right either.

Dont know a test for the coil, just swap it for a working spare to check it.

yeh i know the erroe code 12 is something diffrent. but when i very 1st had the car it was doing the code 12 thing and i never sorted it out untill one day i tested it again and it was showing anything up. what should i check to sort out the code 12 apart from looking at the coil (which seams to be working alright and no dodgy wireing to it)?
