Seen it last Saturday when I was up picking the flue liner kit up, ex display so I managed to get it for an absolute bargain compared to buying new. Well it is new still lol
The lintil needs a wider 1, 1300mm to be exact lol and lifted up 10 inch, also 8 inch solid block 1 side and 11 the other to remove. I've the neighbour warned :)

That's the messy part done thank fuck lol, strange base that when I lifted the tiles, like heatproof packed cork material ?
Anyhow, next step is cut the floor out round the sides and front then build a frame for the new hearth and fill it with concrete then put the insert in....

Builder came yesterday and done the insert and installed the stove and flue kit :)
Up this morning and finished tiling the hearth. Then went to Dundonald to pick a nice mantle, went for a nice oak beam, it's still a chunk off tree that's been dried for over 2 years and it's being cut to size and delivered midweek then fitted and plastered in.
Have the 1st small run in fire going now, fucking Paint smell stinks lol

The neighbours gave me his electric mower and strimmer as he's no grass left to use it on lol :) 5th November the Mate came and cut it them a week after we moved in, the front wasn't too bad then as the neighbours did it every now and then over the 3 years it lay empty but the back was a matted mess about a foot long. I've a fuckton off grass seed threw down and watered so see how the rear goes this year.
It was the 1st half decent day today here 16 degrees lol. Can't wait to summer hits so we can enjoy the place

And relax :) another box outa the garage lmfao
Spent a few hours after work behind the garage lifting the oil tank up to drain it and move it, probably just do away and run the garage heating of a 100L water butt when it's needed.
Have had the stove burning in the evening the last week and the daily gas usage for heat has went from average 6 hours on too average 45 minutes a a day :)

IMG_20220324_083158_568.jpg
Builder back on Monday to fit the solid oak mantle and plaster round it. Went for full breast width at 1675mm lol.
It was a chunk of tree dried for over 2 years and cut too how I wanted it ish, sanded and oiled the top and left the bark on the front, it will likely come off with the heat then it will be sanded and oiled :)

As most of you know I have struggled with my mental health over the years and suffer from depression and various addiction issues but the move has really helped that department of my head out :)
Spent a few hours earlier making the gardens look tidy, watered the grasses and plants an all. What the actual fuck ? LooooL
IMG-20220325-WA0008.jpg

Got another mower and strimmer lol, petrol so now we have a his n hers set lol, they haven't seen many hours use either and I Traded 3 20L drums of heating oil for them :) mower runs and strimmer needs petrol tank and filter cleaning out from lying about not being used.
Gardens are looking a lot better since being cut last week, see how they go this year but I've been looking into rolled turf aswell and it's cheap as fuck but it has to be layed right, that's a few days work itself on groundwork and drainage.........

A week of to get this room done, paper near finished just waiting on a bit of plaster drying to sand and final skim. Floor should be lifted later ready for the new floor and skirts, Danielle painting away at the ceiling and walls while I paper so it's getting done quicker than I thought lol.
GT is coming out aswell to move the wall units for a bit more space and organisation, rafters are being strengthened and then the old upstairs flooring(solid 18mm)will be going up for storage.

Garage turned upside down again, and sideways, fuck I tried a few minutes getting the picture straight, Meh.
2 cupboards moved, the big 1 was on the right side wall with the GT in way it wasn't much where it was. The metal cabinet on right was on the bench and in the way. My top chest can stay there as its handy and the base can be pushed about to wherever. While the GT is out the rafters are getting reinforced on 1 side then old wooden floor going up, basically a massive shelf 7Mx1.5ish for storage for lighter stuff like dashboards, plastics, bikes etc.
