Went and bought a new 40mm sds chisel this morning and then baptised it with fire :)
The old tiles where on a sheet and after taking several off there was the cardboard frame a few mm thick still left permanently attached to the wall, hammer and chisel just wasn't the story and as we are having it replastered anyway I brought the Big Lad out :) tiles where literally flying.
Cupboards and units are in excellent shape and Danielle has started priming then. Replastered will be the next move then new sink and worktops, Cupboards finished and a new floor down, tiles for the floor are picked and then the walls will be all tiled halfway up.

You think playing with cars is expensive lmfao

lol...you just had to find work for the tool :D
houses are a whole different level of expense and like our car projects, they are never finished :)

Once the kitchen is done it just leaves the Daughters room to do and the stairs to carpet, carpet will be the last thing done as the bathroom is getting extended and don't want it ruined with the builder up n down the stairs
Hopefully he's starting it soon

Plan was to play boost with the Caldina today but the rains on and off all day so......

Decided to go tile shopping for the kitchen, floor and wall tiles bought :) got a bag of plaster too and gave the walls the 1st layer then will need another for the final skim. It's getting tiled over anyway but the secret to perfectly flat smooth tiles is preparing the walls. Get the walls nice and true and smooth and the tiles will look well compared to trying to fill uneven surfaces will adhesive as you go, learnt that lesson 19 years ago and then some lol

Builders rocked up this morning, scaffolding is up and they are making a plan of action before they start into it :)
I've told him to do the final skim in the Kitchen so it's lovely and smooth lol

Tomorrow's plan, bath out, wall kicked and cut out, ceiling trailed down also just for fun. Oh and that sidewall too give us another 8 inch length.
Went bought new shitter and sink then when the walls are done see what size bath we can get away with :)

New Bath and Toilet in temporary, just back from the Bathshack after ordering all the wall and ceiling panels. Decided to do it with the pvc panels this time as they are real handy worked with after doing the ceiling in the old house. Just the floor tiles to collect then wait for the panels to arrive :)

Well as we know Covid fucked me up slowed the house work down :(
On top of that 1 pack of the ceiling panels came damaged and we only noticed after putting the 1st strip up,
Knightmare getting THE BATHSHACK to sort it, to start they told me had 48hrs to check them, impossible I told them, the day after they where delivered I was down with Covid so never got near them for a week and they hadn't moved from where the courier set them in the living room. Last Tuesday they rang and said yea no problem after seeing pictures I emailed them, then they rang on Monday there said they weren't as I had to check them in 48 Hours and didn't ciz covid, but they would send me another pack out with 20% off so that's 80 pounds.
Straight away told them go fuck yourself or I will just return the lot under the 30 day sale of goods act etc, its a dear enough hit for them. So today spoke again and they are sending me the pack and 4 extra caps at 60 quid No charge.

Bathroom currently sat with half a ceiling done, floor tiled and new suite fitted, can't do fa else to I get the panels.
So I decided to fit the new kitchen worktops and start the tiling, tiling is a gift as I had the walls skimmed smooth to prepare :)

Yea the colours are working well now Danielle has done some grouting, it's a dark grey then the plastic trim is in-between them.
Got all new sockets and switches, went for some nice rounded edge polished chrome jobbies :) also changed the under counter freezer switch for a socket so have more options to put microwave, kettle, etc in different places lol
Will be 9 months on Friday we are in so 3 months to finish the house stuff then I can go play in the garage :)

Well that's a year today, where the fuck did that go lol !
A few days should see the last of the work done, just a few wee bits here and there like.
Then next week or week after the conservatory is getting a new insulated metal tiledroof and door to keep the heat in during the winter :)
A few downstairs windows could do with being replaced but will wait to next summer or so to do them, over time the gaskets shrink and leave gaps in the corners, old windows so will look at replacing the gaskets 1st, I used to work I window factory's and this particular gasket I always thought was a bit shite as it had to be glued at the corner to stop it shrinking, a more modern gasket should work.

Builder decided it was a nice couple of days ahead so the roof shall be done :) it's getting a new door next week or so had to take the roof apart to get the proper measurements fslool
He's building the roof with this in mind so it's a handy job I can do myself or if he's free when it's made
