Evening folks,
Owned my Glanza now for about 8 months which is currently forged, running a td04 with a wepr manifold, fmic, zisco fuel rail, ported inlet manifold, bc coilovers but standard brakes which I really need to get sorted.
Got a carbon fibre bonnet to put on and some carbon wings, side skirts and spoiler on route.
Recently had a link ecu fitted and mapped at ProTuner in Coventry, but it had to be cut short as it was leaking oil and fuel pretty badly.
Made 235bhp before being cut short, hopefully the leaks are now sorted.
Plans for the future are a new turbo setup [i don’t know what yet, I just want instant response, not bothered about top end, and 280bhp +].
Got a quaife to fit also.
What is really love to do is get rid of the abs and power steering and relocate the battery to the boot to tidy up the engine bay. The car is only going to be a decent weather weekend toy so power steering isn’t essential.
Problem is, I’m absolutely useless mechanically.
If any member on here has experience of doing these things and wants to earn a few quid, please get in touch!
Many thanks.

Hi and welcome.

Instant response and 280+Bhp. Sounds optimistic to me.

I know you can get hybridised CT9 Turbos good for 250bhp, if you're lucky. But I'd say even my CT9 the spool is 3k+

Might want to look at a Tf035 turbo charger for less lag but similar bhp.

Either way, what you got sounds pretty hectic.

Throw up some pictures!

Welcome aboard man, sounds like you've got plenty of things in the pipeline!

Hopefully someone local to you can lend a hand or point you in the right direction for the spanner work. The ABS, PAS and battery relocation are straight forward enough but they should be done right rather than rushed. Response could mean sacrificing top end power as Calum says. If you have a read up on turbo choices in previous threads you might find something that ticks the boxes. There's always 5E or supercharging if you want to go mental.

Oh and pics please!

Welcome along buddy :) plenty of us 40+ on here
A local boy has a hybrid ct9 putting out 230HP, I'm just about to start into mine, I went for the TF035 Forrester turbo running an external waste gate after reading up on them and the common as muck TD04 swap, I didn't fancy loosing spool up time or having too much lag

Thanks for the replies lads, appreciate it and the warm welcome.
How on earth do I upload pics from my iPad? You can tell I’m not a 20 something as it’s now a dark art to me!
Big thanks to Calum already, I’ve pestered the poor bloke on power steering removal already.
Has anyone used any garages for this kind of work that they would recommend?

Those photos are from the advert from I bought it.
It now has an oem lip on the rear bumper and a 98 spec front bumper

Yeah that's well smart.

I'd almost say, leave the powersteering in there.

ABS I hear is a death trap, so it's worth removing. But the PS setup makes the car better to drive in my opinion.

You have to appreciate, I've had my starlet since 2014 and done 2k miles in it.

For me, it's about working on it, not driving it. But it's always refreshing to get back into a car with PS>

Welcome in Man. Glanza really looks bad ass! @goldenvtr is over your neck of the woods - Solihull - and I'm sure he would be happy to help/advise you with the bits you need doing. Drop him a PM on UKS Forum.

welcome to the forums mate..!!!

Lovely car...i love white.

Thank you very much.
I’ve been drooling over your s/s top mount ram horn manifold and am contemplating swapping my mild steel drag style manifold over. Any advantages/disadvantages? Apart from looking the business? :)

mate we do not have a top mount ram kit available for td04 anymore. the drag style kit you currently have is discontinued too.

Both of the older kits have been replaced in favor of the above top mount Godzilla manifold set up.

if you are looking to just swap your mild steel manifold with a stainless steel drag style manifold..then thats possible too...no gains in perfomance..as you mentioned..just aesthetics. :)
