Normal 4EFTE operating temperature?

i have the same auto cluster as you, my car is also an auto conversion
yeah, mine also sits around the "D" when at operating temp---just under half way mark

did you mix the coolant according to the directions?----some of the red ones need diluting
they say water is better for cooling, but i guess coolant is better for your system

when starlets were built toyota were putting (whats known in the uk) green antifreeze, but they dyed theres red

this is where a common misconception about coolant colours comes from, manufactures can have a grade of coolant and colour it whatever colour they want,

http://www.machinerylubrication.com/Read/703/true-colors (this is not where i got my information from, i am a comma oil and various others main stockists and have technical literature etc, except i cant find it at the moment)

if they are mixed with the wrong coolant type they can sludge up and cause all sorts of heating issues.

coolant should be a mix of 50/50 you could also try putting some water wetter in there aswell as this supposedly helps keeps temps down

WUE cuts out at 60C and switches to the main fuel table. I don't run a Thermostat but logging my temps I rarely get to 82C.

I maintain 74 - 80 then the fan cuts in and maintains it in that region.
