is the superma fully synthetic?? or part? and the same with the motul 6100.
so will i still use 15w 50 as it wont burn as much oil then?

Superma is a mineral oil, Motul 6100 is a basic synthetic.

You should use less with those, but a proper synthetic will reduce consumption further.

If you use the forum code there is 10% off, but at the moment there is an offer where the code SAVE will take 20% off instead.

In a hotter courty like mine(Greece)is a 5w30 or 5w40 good enough?I thing a 10w30 or 10w40 would be fine!

Hi oildude ,
please could you recommend some oil for me, your thoughts on nanodrive? ive heard very good things !

Make: toyota
Model : starlet turbo
Year 94
Engine size/type:
forged 4e-fte.
Any mods:
wiseco pistons
scat rods,
crank regrind
rehone
head skim
new oil pump water pump, full gasket set
ported head
td04 kit .7bar
civic rad
fmic
lightweight crank pulley and flywheel
stage 4 clutch
Type of use: fast road and track

Additional info (max oil temps, current oil used)

rebuilt 3000 miles ago, used millers CRO for running in changed at 200miles / 500miles and 1000miles . then run millers CFS 10w-40 for 1000miles then changed again at another 1000miles oil filters changed at the same times. ( all oil purchased from you guys :) great prices and offers BTW !

cold start 4 bar @ 10-20 deg C
drops to 3 bar @ 60 deg C
2 bar @ around 75 deg C

Normal operating temp 65-85deg C she stays fairly cold until boosting.. 60-65 without boosting at all
will rise to 70 with light use, 80-85 with heavy use. as you can see she doesn't get too hot at all. so im looking for something with good protection at around 60Deg C + ?

Hi,

The Nanodrive is good stuff, and so far proven to give more power!

I would go with a 5w-40 over a 10w-40, just a bit friendlier on start up. Around 60-70 degc is when all the additives will start to come alive in the oil, the CFS from millers will be waking up at those temps as well.

Cheers

Guy.

thanks, I checked it out on your site. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-73732-millers-oils-nanodrive-cfs-5w-40-nt-full-synthetic-engine-oil.aspx

great price on it at the moment,.
would you recommend flushing out the engine before changing over, as I said before I have CFS in there right now, its looking a little black after 1000 miles or so.

No need for a flush, just drain and replace. Going black is a good thing, it shows the oil is doing one of its jobs of cleaning, especially on a turbo engine.

Andy,

There are options, much of depends on how much you want to spend. A good 75w-90 synthetic that meets either API GL4 or GL4/5 will be ideal. To try and tame the crunch have a look at the Millers CRX NT 75w-90 here http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90-mtfs-manual-transmission-fluid.aspx

Hi folks,

With winter here and plenty of cold starts, perhaps it's time to consider changing the oil that you use in your car.

Does your antifreeze need changing?
Is your gearshift okay when cold?
Do you need something to protect your car from the weather?
We have free delivery to uk mainland for orders over £40 at the moment so it could be a good time to order from opieoils.co.uk

Let us know if you need any advice, we are here to help. You can call us on 01209 202944, email us at sales@opieoils.co.uk, or just ask here.

Cheers

Hi oil man :) been a while since the last post in this topic :)

I've just found out that i bought a gearbox that housed a quaife lsd. read most of this thread and i believe i have the correct oil to used with this diff.
Brega GL5 75w90 full synth

As it's class GL5 i thought it would be ok with lsd?
