sump gasket or a leak in a oil pipe is probable just get under it with a light and you will see where its leaking from.

Try not to drive the car dude, if it's leakin' quick you could end up with more trouble. Have a good look in and under the engine bay. If your loosing alot of oil, it should not be hard to spot. Check oil return pipe to sump, all around gaskets, near crankshaft seals where the pulleys are and on the gearbox side. Good luck.

I had the same problem back in december - I had oil covering the drivers side of the engine - including the cambelt..

It eventually turned out to be a shitty cheap oil filter that the previous owner had put on it, which had started to rust from the inside out, leaking onto the cambelt and getting chucked up everywhere

mite be worth checking for...

If your oil light has come on the damage has probably already been done.

Remember it isnt a oil level light it is an oil pressure one.

No oil pressure = Ruined engine & Turbo.

You may be lucky but if you let it come on again you will be asking for trouble, it will probably either be leaking from the turbo oil return or the sump gasket/nut.

damage isnt done until it has no oil pressure, then u get rattling and a bang eventually lol actually its not so funny. check the pipe from the sump to the turbo, if its leaking as fast as ur saying it could be the filter or maybe the sump itself??

They piss out from the sump when they are not sealed properly mostly. A drop in oil pressure (enough to light up the oil pressure light) is going to cause damage on the big end shells for starters not to mention the turbo being starved of oil.

Just read this again and it is a crazy statement to make any significant drop in oil pressure (enough to make the warning light to come on) will cause damage to the engine/turbo.
