it was done to retain the stock drivability of the car, Mick used to drive this to work around 100km round trip so fuel usage was on the top of the list to remain close to stock, the second bank of 440's came in at 5psi boost :)

this car brings back some great memorys

im going alright mate,
dont have that car any more, it got sold to a mate and its still going strong, last time on the dyno it was making 190hp at the tyres and has over 200,000km on the 4efe :)

we have been flat out and unfortunatly not doing many td04 kits any more, i think we did 1 or 2 in the last 12 months :(

this is what we are playing with at the moment, twin turbo LS1 making around 950hp, new motor going in after chrissy and it will be making about 1300hp, it has already run 9.4@147mph

wow, Dale himself.
I tried to contact you thrue your "braidedlines" website form in past years without success. this Mark engine bay is still the best ep82 one I have seen to date.
have you ever played with water/meth injection? it's quite popular in USA and I'm thinking of it for my new car (still reading and learning for now)

have had a lot of problems with that,

my email is dale at castle hill exhaust dot com dot au

yes i love the water/meth injection, we sell the snow performance kits and i have used them on my own twin turbo ls1 making 660rwhp on 14psi boost :)
i always run straight water tho, meth is great if your intercooler is not up to scratch but its the water that does all the good work :)

I see. that's cool :)
the reason I'm thinking of 50:50 water/meth is cause of our poor octane situation over Mauritius (around RON92 I beleive). I've been looking on aquamist (1S & 2D), perrin, snow performance and coolingmist. Right now, I'm diging to find badside and aftereffect of this system as my car is a daily drive (premature engine wear...).
BTW, here is my lil car :)
you said Meth is nice if your intercooler isn't scratched. I understand here that you place your nozzle before IC for extra cooling purpose ?
It seems we will have to start a water/meth topic lol

no down sides if used correctly,

i would be using the snow kit, they are quality and the map controller makes it easy to set it up,

great. I'll have a look on snow kits again. Perrin kit was my prefered choice for now. my other consern is system delay. i mean, when you are around 4500 rpm, if you unpress throttle and then go WOT again, there is surely a short delay before the kit activate and water/meth reach combustion chamber (especialy when nozzle isn't direct port). during that delay I'm a bit afraid of DET. also, does the pump is really fast enough to follow RPM rize on first gears (when using pump speed variation instead of highspeed valves to control the flow). quick info, on my case the water/meth kit would be installed on the side of an apexi Power FC
now I'm totaly of topic, but this is not everyday that I see you around !!

the biggest problem you will have with delay is the distance from your pump to the nozzle. on my car it was 1.8m from each other so i ran a soloniod to shut the flow off just before the nozzle and it would work fine,

you will not get the benefits from the water in the first 2 gears, once you get 3rd and the boost is at maxium and the cylinder pressure is at its max thats when the water works its best, so dont be worried about a little delay

thanks for the distance info. I plan to fit the pump in engine bay using IC waterspray tank. thinking of a small nozzle before IC (IC cooling purpose) and bigger one close to throttle body. the low octane figure is a real problem over here, especialy on JDM STI that was first designer to run RON102... Most STI owners over here have just been redoing theire engine every 2 years ! (as they didn't know about octane story). I have installed a PFC straight away with very conservative ignition timing for now. but well, this is hp costly... hence why I'm thinking water/meth ;)
BTW, there is a very interesting discussion that started yesterday between two big manufacturer (aquamist and coolingmist) that you might want to check :)

with the pump in the bay you wont have a problem :) at 150psi there is very little delay!!

ill have a read tomorrow when i get some time, just bolting a motor back together now!!
