i know how to drive mate, how u suppose to hold a steady speed when someone pulls out on you???? just crash into em no biggie. and i wasnt complaining about it, i can ask for advice. thanks for that toby, ile look to be getting getting a panhard rod i think and a rear anti roll bar

when the car is driven sensibly lift off over steer isnt a problem, in the wet or dry.

i've had a gt for 2 years and only managed to get lift off over steer when gunning it round long sweeping corners.

i have the same tyre setup u got, proxes on the front and yokohama gp's on the back, i have panhard rod and rear arb, and my rear coilovers are set on maximum stiffness, to promote over steer,

as toby said, u need an adjustable panhard rod. Due to the rear axle not being independant, as soon as u lower ur car without having the panhard rod it offsets the wheel alignment from the chassis

Also, flooring it in the wet in a starlet is a very bad idea lol

yer tell me about it lol, really doesnt like it lol

i really dont understand where a lot of you guy's have problems.

any car handles like poo in the wet,

and the starlet isnt terrible in the wet, and traction is fine in the wet until you start getting close to 200bhp but up until that point starlets are a doddle to drive come rain or sun, which is half the reason there so much fun

Nice write up :)

any car but 4wheel drive cars can handle and put the power down very well in the wet not that with the starlet you cant but you would have your limits and have to control your throttle so you keep the limited traction you have.

Toby I dont agree with the theory that if the front and rear tyres do not match you would have problems , i never had matching tyres front and rear (ran Yokohama front and T1s rear - Toyo T1r front and yokos rear and now i have R888 front and toyo rear and handling has been spotless )

Tyre pressure :

for the drag strip you need a soft low pressure tyre but to go round corners fast you need a hard sidewalled and high inflated tyre , I do mine at 60psi at the rear and 40psi at the front ,now some of you wwill say 60psi  yes ! and i found it spotless .My car roadsurface permitting as here we have some shit roads can slam me and hold me pressed against the door it goes so fast around the bends no bullshit and i guess what works on my aygo would work on any front wheel drive. Another thing as toby said are the bushes my car is pretty new compared to the gt's and glanza so the bushes would be giving a helping hand with my handling but then when i fitted a set of powerflex to my daewoo it was shit in handling before and it was still shit after.

after all this said I believe in one thing its YOU driving the car not the antiroll bar or the tyres those are just there to help you do it better so you have to perfect your driving ability .I try to work most on that as when you are short of $$$$ you have to look for other options and getting your driving perfect isfree just need to practice ,dont know about the leftfoot braking to be honest i dont fancy it cos u are either braking with your foot or are accelerating all i know is you must never touch the break in the corner just slow down before onece you are in your in ,as soon as i start the bend i start accellerating slowly and steady enough not to break traction on the inner wheel i dont even need to wait for the apex to start my accelleration but you have to practice as practice makes you perfect

my 2p worth :)
