private plates

dunno if this is right section, was most applicable i could find, if a mod needs to move it, cool.

my dad owns a private plate but is selling his car, damn credit crunch lol, obviously hes keeping the plate, as the plate is relative to me aswell because its our surname, he said i could keep it on my car for the time being, i will be looking into it meself, but, how do we move the plate straight from car to car? thaaaank you very much

you have to inform dvla that you want to change the reg plate, there is a form for it but im nt sure which 1 it is it doesnt take 2 long to sort tho

Pretty sure i paid that when i swapped my plate onto the glanza

What is the first letter on the private plate as you cant put a private plate on a car to make it look newer than it is, just incase you didnt know :)

oh i c what you mean now, the first letter is D, will tht be alryt? my cars an N reg. if go to a dvla office will they be able to do it then and there? just my dads sold it to a garage, and its being taken to them wednesday

it will cost £120 for u 2 put it on retension go dwn to dvla and fill out a form it means when you want to put it on a 53 plate or newer you can. lol when i sold my first starlet (n659 JHK) i took off my personalised number plate that was on at the time then dvla decided to put on the number plate (EY55 BVE) a 55 plate!!!!!!!!!! newest starlet around
