putting on muscle

hey peeps

could any1 give me any advice on putting on some muscle or some rly good excercises to do. i used to be fat but have lost a lot of weight but now find that my metabolism rate is high and i am quite skinny (13st) and 6ft 2.

so i wna try to get bigger a bit on my upper body

motivation not a problem.
diet - problem'ish
excercise choice - big problem lol

lets discuss :)
 
i was 9stone 2 pound now im a healthy looking 16stone 3pound at a height of 5ft 11

my secret loads of heavy training,alot and a mean alot of eating and ehmm cough steroids cough lol

1. Exercises http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html - This link shows you how to perform each exercise, you can select by muscle. You want to concentrate on compound exercises such as dead lifts, bench press, military presses etc.

2. Diet - Complex carbohydrates, protein, fluids, fruit and vegetables. You need to eat a lot of calories to gain weight.

3. Sleep - The only place you build muscle tissue.

I'm 5ft 11, only ever been 14st at heaviest, but am now about 13st and a few lbs. You don't need steroids, at the end of the day you age, your body gets old, and then turns into dust when you die - so why bother with any risk.
 
Done correctly their is no problems with steroids and thats from experience.

if like me you want something to happen quickly then why not? only if you fully understand them that is

if you read what the internet and media lead you to beleive yeah their bad for you but have anyone ever read the side effects of paracetomal, next time have a nosey and if hyped up on side effects you will not take them

If you want something, demonstrate you are motivated and driven enough to achieve it. Be patient.

Sure you can use them safely, but everyone reacts differently to drugs, for example you can't mitigate the potential of hair loss through DHT, not everyone's natural testosterone levels can recover fully after PCT. You can't blindly say they're harmless just because your experience is good.

But yes drugs like paracetamol are very bad for the liver (most people take these after alcohol consumption which makes it even worse), as are oral steroids.

As for body building, good excercise, diet and rest as GTti said is the way to go. Although if your not lifting weights or training for something its a waste of time if you ask me. If you want to get fit, go for a run :)

totally agree with regards to orals hence why i do not take them.

with regards to patience why would you need to wait when something is right there? and when your own genetics take you so far and no more this is where steroids will become useful and take you passed that stage

I've read up on it and have been well educated on the effects and such. I find it amusing that the information you point me to is on a pro steriod related forum. of course those who take them will defend them black and blue, its like drug addicts saying legal substances are more harmful than those which are not.

The fact that more people have died from using steriods, bodybuilders, pro wrestlers and sportsmen looking for extrat performance should be a warning to anyone of the dangers. They are not all bad but like anything abusing them is.

Drawing a line without getting into a mass life story debate on it; you agree on them, I dont. Lets leave that one at that eh? :)

So.....excercise tips then?

I would start off with some light training first to get the body used to movement and stress. Don't go loaidng up the dumbell thinking your going to be a ripped up hulk within a week or you just asking for an injury.

i cant see the point in beinghuge personaly, people only get big to hide there insicuirties and draw attention away from other parts of there bodies that arnt so perfect.

Boy in my work is proper huge, into everything plus goes to the gym every night and does a diffrent part of his body each night. Always put bets on him in the workshop, lifting short blocks above his head ect. He cant even wear his overalls up coz he's that big lol.

He told us his "regime", i couldnt be fucked with it all to be honest.....or maybe too weak minded to go through with it :)

There's no such thing as a healthy looking 16 stone guy at less than 6 foot, they are taking something or fat!

Also, very few people take paracetamol on a regular basis so the risks are negligable.

I have mates that have used anabolic steroids all there life's (some are in to there 50s now) had a mate in his late 30s drop down half dead not long ago with heart problems caused by anabolic steroids spent a long time in hospital and is on medication for rest of his life now i also know a cardiologist (heart specialist) that works for the NHS told me he sees young people all the time in heart failure (weakened pumping function of the heart) caused by anabolic steroids its not hype
