Hi everyone!

I have a problem of engine noise in my radio.
Its a whinning sound that builds up with engine revs. My car is a Corolla E11 with a 4efte swap. Does anyone had this problem before and can lead me in a way to get rid of it?
Appreciate your experience and help concerning this problem.

Thanks!

Normally it is because you have a bad ground connection somewhere.

I would check they are all connected properly or missing as a starting point.

All the grounds have already been checked, radio, speakers and all the cables are new. Got a bit better after the new installation but its still doing the interference and it is annoying specially at low volume. Anywhere else can the problem be sourced?

Internal issues with the alternator can also be an issue.

Try running a ground from the alternator direct to the battery and see if that helps.

Have you tried another radio in case it has an issue itself?

I'll try that as soon as I have the chance.

The radio I'm using now is brand new, had the same issue with the old one.

I remember years ago you could buy a wee resistor for this issue, seen it on a good few older cars, check the earths :)
