Best advice i can give is not to keep the handbrake on especially when its cold outside. If my car is being parked up for a long period of time i keep it in gear rather then keeping the handbrake on

Exactly what i do ;)

So the first rear caliper i tried to rebuild was easy until I reached part 47306B it was stuck and I couldn't get it out. I actually was able to remove it once it put a bunch of acrylic sealant around it. So it can be hard but to be fair it is not to hard. I'm currently in the stage of elektro plating the caliper and piston with zinc/nickle. I also had to buy a new caliper from Toyota for mot they are pretty expensive at 300 euros new. Some paseos also have these calipers.

They may not be the best calipers but they did last me for about 20 years probably. It just a common point now since these cars are getting old. New refreshed/protected calipers should last for at least 10 years.

They seem to have bounced up in price over the last year or two. See a few on ebay for £40-60.

If I were spending that sort of money I'd be leaning towards the genuine Toyota stuff, part number is 04479-16040 if you fancy pricing it with Niall.

Must give him a bell then, he switched me onto the trade discount scheme a while ago too :)
