Recaro Fishnet into GT

Hi,

I bought a pair of fishnet recaros a few weeks ago that were crudely fitted into a glanza some makeshift custom feet. I want to fit them into my GT, but I was just wondering if anyone had any guides/measurements that I could pass onto a fabricator?

As the seats are already on rails, I assume my best bet would be to have some solid custom feet made up?

Thanks for any info

When ive fitted recaros in the past ive just fitted the relevant feet off the original rails to the recaro rails.

By that do you mean cutting the feet off the oem rails and welding them to the recaro rails? If so I thought about that, but was unsure whether or not the new seats would sit too high?

Yeah pritty much although ive just bolted the feet normally. Aslong as the seats have good rails they will actually sit lower than most. I bought a recaro rail for my sr3, bolted the feet to that, and it sits lower than my genuine rails by some margin.

Not the best pictures Tyler. Will try and get some better ones up later of the current feet on the. One the rear feet - on both seats - was bolted on with a fare few amount of washers. So I'm guessing one side of the recaros bolts in higher than the other side?Did you have any issues with that?

I didnt need the use of any washed anywhere, Looking at the white sticker in between the rail and the seat it looks the same rail as i used with mine, i will get some close up photos of my setup tomorrow :)

Thanks a lot man. And like you said, they definitely sit lower than oem seats?

Heres some better pics of the rails and dodgy feet I bought mine with.

Looks like someones had a right mare when fitting that lol. Take the ep91 stuff off, Cut the feet off the gt rails, bolt them in the car, then place the seat over the feet to mark the holes to drill and go from there.

The webbing can be got new i think too if needed :)

Seats deffo sit lower with that setup, i have the oem recaro rails in the glanza and they sit much higher! Ive debated at times whether to do something about it but have been reluctant to.

lol...I was thinking the exact same. heaven forbid what would have happened if the lad ever had an accident with these seats ion his car. The feet bolts and washers weren't the best to say the least.

Is capital seating the best place, to get the webbing etc from? The bolsters etc are in Ok condition, but there are 2 rips on the both passenger side bolsters and passenger head rest, that i would like to get repaired.

Also Tyler, do you know if I can use my oem seat belt buckle/clips with these seats?

Capital seating is the first place i would go, depends if you could pick one up new but second hand.

As far as im aware the buckle mount should be on the rail. With those rails tho you have to come up with your own solution. I made up a bracket that goes between the seat and the rail.

The lad I bought them of said he used his standard glanza buckles attached to the recaros. Don't know how he managed that.

Either way, i'll get the some brackets made up.
Thanks again for your help. Well appreciated:cool:

Fella on Instagram upgarageuk has a mountain off seats and I see he has a Glanza recaro drivers side rail advertised.
My rep had Cobras in it, pretty simple square mount plate with standard starlet feet welded on, I've a set of GT-FOUR electric seats to make fit sometime

@TylerGlanza short notice mate, but do you happen to have any pics of the seat belt buckle mount, you made up?

I'm heading over to my fabricators tomorrow, and just wanted to give him an idea of what I need. Thanks

I would, however im currently about 11,500 miles away from it :( all it needs to be is a bracket that allows the fitting of the oem seatbelt buckle, also slides with the seat, and a welded on nut is also a bonus.

No worries. Thanks anyway.
The job had to be postponed as my fabricator bricked an ecu on a map he was loading onto a van. Back on Thursday to have them fitted fingers crossed:cool:

Custom feet probably need made bud, if your fabrication guy is any use it won't be an issue knocking something up :)
Any pics yet

I gave up in the end mate as I was having some other work done, and was running out of time.
My fabricator is top notch, with the exhaust work he has done for me so far, but this seemed to really throw him a bit today.
I think maybe as he hasnt modded seats before, he didn't want any come backs if there was an accident. I dunno.
One of the irish lads on Fb offered me some custom rails for £230 which he makes from scratch. Just unsure of the quality without seeing them in person.

The Cobras in my rep had a square frame made up from 1.5 inch X quarter flat steel with original factory seat mounts welded on then the seats bolted to the frame, lovely seat to sit it but had no slider action but was pretty much perfect position for me :)
