rough idle, running rich

Is it normal that the inlet in the throttle body for the map sensor is tilted?

Looks like it's been hit at some point and bent it. If it's not leaking, it should be fine.
If it is leaking, you would have to take it off to repair it properly anyway.

Alternatively, you could snap it off. Slap some chemical metal like JB weld over it to ensure it is sealed, then take your map sensor signal from one of the other ports on the inlet. It's not ideal though.

Map sensor hose changed
Fpr hose changed
Iacv hose changed

car is still idling weird, rpm gauge looks okay but engine is shaking a bit, like not constant, and exhaust is still smoking, fuel smell and sputtering

Have you tried taking the map sensor source from another point on the inlet manifold just in case you have a leak from that bent connection on the back?

It needs to be after the throttle body.

If that connection on the back is leaking, it will never idle great, even with the map signal from elsewhere but if the map sensor sees a half decent pressure it should help.

Have you got any other connections on the throttle body not connected to anything?

Just tried, took it from the bov point and still the same, ofc I blocked the map sensor inlet before trying, same rough idle.

i had a boost gauge before, the vacuum line is still there, goes to the electronic box that controlled the gauge, so I suppose there isn’t an open connection.

I’ll upload a few pics and a video on the idle and some other stuff in a bit

This ‘vacuum switch’ (that’s how it’s called I think), what does it do?
Because I unplugged it while the car was running but there wasn’t any difference at all in idling or sound.. also just found I have a freaking exhaust leak ffs ‍♂️

This is my charcoal canister (i think that’s the name)
Reading from Frankie’s post and Jay’s pictures on there, there is this thing I circled red in Jay’s photo, what is it?
Because I don’t have that instead mine is like in the first picture I took. (That’s from underneath of it)

I believe yes, does it look different? I did swap it when I swapped the engine, this one was in the previous corolla I had and the engine was in that

What is the part number on it? It should run ok on idle, but if it is an n/a sensor, it definitely won't work properly when it sees boost.

It could be an mr2 turbo or Celica gt4 sensor. Do you have the part number of it?

Vsv, what does it do?

also noticee something and it’s getting me worried

when the car is running and I remove the plug wire one by one, the car should feel like stalling right?
