Site Downtime

Hi all,

You may have noticed that we had some odd behavior on the forum recently followed by some downtime over the past 24 hours, it appears that this is now resolved.

For those of you who have an interest in these things - The server that TGTT runs on had a specific limitation in its configuration that was causing the forum to crash the database. We needed to reconfigure the server and repair the corruptions in the database. This took some time as we did not want to restore from a backup because it would have involved losing the previous 12 hours content - posts, PM's etc, as it stands now we did not lose any content.

One positive from this experience is that the root cause is due to a busy and VERY large database. This is due to the tons of information on the site and all the people who are accessing it constantly.

My apologies for the downtime, it is our first time experiencing any significant downtime in recent memory.

Thank you for your patience.

Good work mate, I'm sure everyone appreciates the effort you've put in to get this sorted in such a short space of time.

Many thanks! :)
