Sky Insurance, mistake or?

I've always wanted a glanza, but insurance has always been a problem. I'm 19 and been driving since 17, but as a named driver. Insurance has always been around £2000-3000!

I'm 20 in a few days and came across Sky insurance, and with over 2 years driving experience they found me a insurance company called Marc insurance, which came in at £1341?.

I've rang twice and double checked it, all correct.

Can this be real or a mistake, or is this reasonable for a 20 year old? Has anyone else experienced this?

Cheers

im going fully comp when it renews in may, i dont care how much it is i dont want to risk writting off this car considering the ammount ive spent on it! third party counts for shit! sky is good, lovely people, but to be honest go wherever the best price is, staying loyal to one insurance company is a thing of the past, most of them try to screw u over on prices anyway! thats just how the insurance industry is nowadays :(

Sounds about right, I'm 18 and even tho no insurance company will touch me on a glanza, I'm only paying 1700 on a gt turbo, and that's my own policy with no ncb

This is dirt cheap considering your age/experience! I will go sky next year if they give me a good quote!

Would you feel more comfortable with a higher price? I'm sure we can arrange that...

No no. Was just wandering if any one else experienced this. I'm over the moon, can now purchase the car I always wanted, unless the price mysteriously rises after this thread!

Mod can delete this thread!

yeah im with sky on the teg, sorted me out. I think the high price is most likely due to you starting your driving life as a named driver

sky are very good, been with them for 2 years now, very cheap insurance.

the only thing i recomend is to ask what restrictions are on your policy, as i have come unstuck for 2 years now, because of the restrictions in place i find it very difficult to swap cars to what i want,

last yeah i couldnt insure an evo or an impreza until i was 25, this year (now i'm 25) i cant insure any impreza, and can only insure evo's upto an evo6 because of the restrictions,

Please PM me your details again, if we can insure the Evo I can see no reason why we cannot insure the Impreza. The only thing I can think of is we ask for a years experience on an Impreza or similar car but we would ask for the same on the EVO, hence why I am confused why we said no.

Thanks

becuase of the company who the policy was with.

you checked into it for me not so long back as when i took the policy i asked whether i could insure a legacy, then months later i thought i had asked about an impreza aswell but you checked into it and i didnt.

so when the lady called me back to confirm what you had told me, i asked what cars i cant insure and she said

all impreza's
evo's newer than 6
lotus elise
any cosworth

possibly was others aswell but cant remember now.

i hope i can insure evo's upto 6 though cos thats what i got my eye on next

Hi,

sorry yes you are right, it is down to your policy underwriter on this one, at next year's renewal we should be in a better position as we can re-broke to a new underwriter.

apologies for the confusion - my error.
