Some track fun

Don't ask how but I've ended up sharing a cheap track project wagon with our Phil (TypeMR.com)

1. Buy the cheapest shitbox you can
2. Drive it till you break it or it breaks you
3. Haven't got this far just yet!

Two days done and it's been hilarious craic so far. Cue the pics:

Ted's vvtli swapped one made 210HP and from watching him round Kirky it was very impressive looking :)

Small update - fresh road wheels fired on whilst I see about refurbishing the Sparco's.

Also replaced a door mirror glass because someone put a silly cone in Phil's racing line..

PAS lines, lambda probes, short shift and a brake overhaul are all on the cards.

Did I just detail a £600 scrapper?

Yes indeed I did..

In truth I needed to practice on something before attacking the Caldina with a buff.

So now that's done I can soldier on :)

Used a DAS6 with Sonus pads. Clayed, polished, glazed with Black Hole, sealed then a coating of G3 on top. Finished with Anachem Hybrid as a cherry on top. Needed the exercise!

May have missed an update or two.

Swapped out the rotted power steering pipes (common issue) for some fresh imported ones:

Also brought in some Japanese lambda probes whilst I was at it which seems to have got shot of the fault codes we were seeing every 30/40 miles:

In need of front and rear brake overhauls and a set of front shocks by the looks of it before this one sees a 'proper' track day. I trust it on the road but at track speeds we would see issues. Something to look into over the next few months :)

Enjoying the summer weather lol:

Never thought my apocalypse car would be a convertible TBH. Figured there would be zombies..

Great driving machine on the track, just enough power to get yourself into trouble and reel it back in.

Unfortunately I look a tad silly with the roof down and my locks flapping in the breeze but it's all good fun!

The 2ZZ is the ideal engine upgrade, Lotus chose well :)

4EFTE are too hard to find these days.

If I was thinking turbo, boosting a 1zz seems to be the easier option but they have enough trouble in standard trim to make it a bad idea.

Would love to 2GR swap it. Go big or go hame
