Was nearly for a roadster there myself for Kirky but it ended up getting traded, that would have sealed the GTs fate
The mate turbo,d his 140 celica, like you say they suffer from oil burning and rings sticking. His is currently smoking like me but hasn't popped yet much to my annoyance  he will pop it he has promised me as hes building a 140 with all the forged bits :)

Totally agree.

Chassis is way different to the old SW20 I used to own. This one doesn't try to kill me!

A slight break in the weather yesterday meant I got my brace options test fitted.

Have left the Cusco ones in then I can upgrade to the TRD one to see if it's worth the ticket price. Enjoyed the run out, has improved things greatly, can really feel the chassis responding a lot clearer now. Also has highlighted the suspension and alignment is very tired and needs attention ffs. Front brakes next then I gotta look at shock absorbers and other pricey stuff..

Well that's the front and rear calipers/discs/pads/lines all replaced.

Prepping a set of spare track rims as the Chronos are too respectable now.

Got front suspension to tackle next. The shocks are shot, there's a bearing that feels rough and all the bushes are long past saving so may as well do a bit of spending.

Few odds and sods done.

Has tightened a lot of the handling up but once again this has made the failing front shocks a bit more noticeable. With have to tackle that front suspension refresh soonish.

Fairly makes a difference, there must be a good bit of flex in the floor without a roof to hold it together.

Might have to look at additional bracing once the front end gets a refresh.

yeah, it does look interesting...guess if used in conjunction with the front and rear bottom braces it should in theory add some rigidity to the bottom of the car...for that track feel

does it provide decent clearance for the exhaust piping,,,or do you think there would be some rubbing over undulating/rough/bumpy terrain?

Engine is in the back so there's no exhaust up the centre tunnel (haven't really adjusted to this bit just yet). I have no doubt that I'll find some way of bouncing that lovely blue paint off something though!

Finally sorted the OSF shock that has been dragging the whole car down:

Both shocks are the cheapest of the cheap (£35 each posted) and appear to be Neox. The boxes they arrived in were turned inside out which is probably a bad sign although after a bit of a roadtest everything seems about a billion times better than it was!

Also replaced the very corroded front anti-roll bar with an upgraded 22mm Cusco unit. When I upgraded the bushes last month I noticed how bad the surfaces were so opted for an upgrade. Has definitely tightened the cornering up, front end feels quite a bit 'flatter' in the twisties but it could be my imagination I guess. Have the rear one to fit too but might leave it until next weekend.
