scott - your problem sounds like ignition leads. i had the same problem, swaped sparks and got same probem, swapped leads and problem sorted.

So much so in fact that on the dyno it made 103 hp with the shity leads, poed on new leads, Nothing exensive like magnecors , just oem replacements and it made 171 Hp :)
 
normal cold grade plug is NKG BKR7E this is a cheap copper plug with good gap for your needs and is 1 grade colder at a 7

The judder like people said is normally ignition related. i'd do plugs and leads first. if not that dizzy cap and rotor arm as toyotas eat there dizzy caps. and if that doesn't sort it i've known the coil to go weak and cause the same issue. I'd also recommend highly genuine toyota parts. the OEM leads although quite expensive are shown in other toyota vs aftermarket tests to have the best current capacity and give the best spark.

Scott it was the rpm range regardless of what gear or boost
And ill give spark plugs a go coz luckerly i kept the old plugs which i threw in and hat seemed the helped alot
