Starlet GI? Whats the deal?

Hi all,

After making the biggest mistake of my life and selling my EP85 turbo I have been toying with the idea of getting another starlet.

I passed a garage with one on the forecourt that looked like a turbo I just noticed the bumpers I pulled in and its owned by the garage owners Dad and was there for an MOT - he said its not a turbo hes taken my number and will ask if his dad wants to sell it.

It was the other side of the forecourt but as I drove passed I noticed it had the GT type bumpers and a 'bump' in the bonnet but not a vent like the turbo.

I did some googling and think its a GI what are these, and could it be anything else?

The GI is the none turbo version of the starlet turbo it will have an 4efe NA engine

Yup. Non turbo 4efe. There's one at my local drag strip with a 5efhte

100bhp 4EFE engine.

Rare enough and should run without too much going wrong. Powerwise it would be the same NA engine that was in your EP85 to begin with.

There was a nice grey one (auto though) on eBay. That sold for about 500notes a few weeks back.
